2009 Championship
2009 Championship
Dear Shooters,
The Ohio Sporting Clays Association and our host club invites you and your shooting
friends to the 15th Annual Ohio Sporting Clays Championships. This year’s tournament, featuring many special events, will be held at Hill ‘n Dale Club in Medina, Ohio on August 7-9, 2009.
Hill ‘n Dale and the OSCA have worked very hard to make sure that we have a
shooting venue that will make the State Championship the marquee shoot of the year in Ohio. We promise that this year’s sporting clay event will be a bigger and better shoot than ever before. We have invited Lois Lessing back for scorekeeping duties.
Sponsors of the state championship now include:
Friday offers a 100 bird classed prelim, plus fifty-bird classed competitions for each of
the small gauges. A fifty bird pump gun and side by side event will be available for vintage
shooters. This year we will have the sub-gauges course open on Saturday. The sub-gauge course will be an area of the club not shot on in over ten years.
The main event, featuring 200 targets will begin Saturday and conclude on Sunday with 100 targets each day. Two five-stands will operate throughout the event, one for practice...the other for competition. We hope all of you will join us for an evening cocktail party, dinner and our Annual Meeting.
Again for the second year we will have a 50 bird FITASC set by Mike Hafley on Saturday and Sunday
Make a Break will extend the shooting fun into the evening on Saturday with the top
eight shooters from Saturday’s main event competing for a $500 cash purse, split between the top
two shooters. Prior to this event, two shooters from each class will be chosen at random to
compete for additional cash prizes.
A sportsman class is available to encourage all hunters and non-registered shooters to
give the state championship a try. You are not required to be a member of the NSCA to shoot in
sportsman class.
So make your reservations today and send in the enclosed entry form! We hope to see all
of you at the 14th Annual Ohio Sporting Clays Championship.
Sincerely,
OSCA Board & Trustees
